What is Covered?

Different parts of our Dining Furniture range have different coverage.

We provide this Warranty to you in addition to any rights or remedies you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other applicable law (Consumer Law Rights).

Warranty Period:

5 Year Manufacturing Defect Warranty

Exclusions:

  • Products used for business or commercial purposes.
  • Change of address or ownership.
  • Products sold as "Stock Clearance" or similar.
  • General wear and tear. E.g., discoloration, abrasions, scratches, water marks, sun damage or superficial cracks not causing harm to the structure of the table.
  • Sitting or standing on the table top or any part of the table not designed to sat or stood on.
  • Excessive damaged deemed ‘Misuse or Neglect’. These include, but not limited to, broken frames or structure caused by falling or landing on the furniture with force, not caused by general use.
  • Removing parts, DIY fixes, or modifications of any kind void the warranty.

In order to maintain the longevity of your timber dining table, we recommend:

  • keeping the timber out of direct sunlight. Timber does fade;
  • not putting hot objects or objects filled with liquids directly on the surface without a coaster or mat;
  • removing any liquids from the surface as quick as possible. Timber does absorb liquids;
  • using felt to cover the bottom of any ornament or vase to avoid scratches.

  • Removing parts, DIY fixes, or modifications of any kind void the warranty.

Items Covered:

Upholstery, foam filling, stitching, leather, fabric and timber or metal frames belonging to dining chairs or bar stools.

Warranty Period:

Metal Legs/Frames: 5 Year Manufacturing Defect Warranty

Timber Legs/Frames: 1 Year Manufacturing Defect Warranty

Exclusions:

  • Products used for business or commercial purposes, e.g., in a restaurant, hotel or bar.
  • Change of address or ownership.
  • Products sold as "Stock Clearance" or similar.
  • General wear and tear. E.g., discoloration, abrasions, scratches, puddling or streching or fabric pilling.
  • Excessive damaged deemed ‘Misuse or Neglect’. These include, but not limited to, broken frames or structure caused by falling or landing on the furniture with force, not caused by general use.
  • Removing parts, DIY fixes, or modifications of any kind void the warranty.

Items Covered:

Extension mechanisms and moving parts.

Warranty Period:

  • Products sold as "Stock Clearance" or similar.
  • General wear and tear. E.g., discoloration, abrasions, scratches, water marks, sun damage or superficial cracks not causing harm to the structure of the table.

How to make a claim?

To claim the benefit of this warranty, photos and receipts need to be emailed to service@gainsville.com.au. Alternatively, you can text through your information and photos to +61 483 930 638.

Subject to the specific terms of the item’s Warranty, if during the parts warranty term [refer to above] from the date of delivery, the items provide defective by reason of improper workmanship or materials, we will repair, replace or refund* (Repair, Replace or Refund is at our discretion. Refund amount is determined by the amount of years left during the Warranty Period). Your Consumer Law Rights may extend beyond the Warranty Period.

The Gainsville Service Manager will assess your claim and decide warranty validity on a case to case basis. If the item is determined to not be covered under warranty, we will provide other options where available.

On-site warranty service;

  • You must allow us sufficient access to your property to inspect the furniture.
  • Inspection fees may apply. The Service team will advise.
  • For more remote / out of Metro Areas, travel fees may apply. The Service team will advise.

Return to base warranty service;

  • If we ask you to return the item, you must return the furniture together with all packaging, parts and accessories.
  • Where you return items as part of a Warranty claim, freight and or other delivery costs are not covered by this Warranty.

This Warranty is only valid and enforceable in Australia and is governed by the laws of Victoria. The benefit of this Warranty is for you only, and no other person or third party can rely on or make a claim under this Warranty. This Warranty or the benefit under this Warranty cannot be assigned or transferred to any other person or third party at any other address than what is noted on the original sales order or invoice.

What if the product can't be repaired?

Gainsville has the right to attempt to repair a piece of furniture that may have an issue. If the fault is deemed to be a major fault which hinders your use of the product in such way that makes the product unfit for its purpose, you may be eligible for a refund. The amount refunded back to you is based on a Pro-rata schedule.

For example; You have spent $1,000 on a product from Gainsville, and the part that is broken has a 15 Year Warranty after 6 years of ownership. If Gainsville is unable to have the part repaired, you may be eligible for a refund of $500, as per the Pro-rata schedule.

Refunds are processed once the product has been returned to Gainsville. Transportation costs are always excluded and quoted dependant on the client's location.

Australian Consumer Law

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
