The Clara Bed is built around its headboard: a 101 cm high, panelled and upholstered headboard that extends past the mattress on both sides, finished with a slim black trim. Underneath is Gainsville's own 72-slat support system, three times the 24 slats found in many standard bases, spread across four independent bays with three centre support beams. Slats sit under 5 cm apart, meeting the warranty requirements of most mattress manufacturers, and the base folds to fit through lifts, stairwells and narrow doorways.
